Dear managers,

We are pleased to announce the third ‘iGP World Cup’ will take place this year and for a period of approximately one month from 13th April 2024.

Here is a short introduction to prepare you as best as possible to defend the colors of your country during this international competition bringing together the best players in the world.

  1. Who can register and participate?

This competition, like the first edition, is open to all players with an elite account and a level greater than or equal to 28 (28,29,30), at the start of the tournament, of all nationalities and all ages. To participate, you must use one of your personal accounts (accounts can be lent to help with 1 race only in case of late problems but will be limited).

Registrations will be made via the page “Registration” from Friday 12pm GMT 1st March 2024 and will close on Sunday 12 pm GMT 31st March 2024.

If you don’t have the required level at the time of registration, you can still register and it will be validated at the start of the tournament.

  1. How will the teams be formed?

First of all, during this event, you will represent your country. For this, you will be in a team format with the aim of beating the other country(ies) that will face you.

Like last edition, teams will be limited to 6 players and 4 substitutes per nation with the aim of including new nations and avoiding mergers of countries and that this event remains both a high-level competitive event but also friendly and a moment of sharing. If this allows more “small nations” to be included, it penalizes the “big nations” who cannot make a difference in their overall quality of players. With the aim of keeping this event competitive and open to as many people as possible, a nation will be able to enter 2 teams, for a total of 12 players and 8 substitutes. In order to qualify 2 teams, the country will need at least 14 entries.

  1. How will the tournament take place?

Last edition, we used a tournament on 3 steps with a qualification, a group and a final stage.

This year, the tournament will keep the same process :

1st week: Qualification stage within countries with more than 6 players in at least 3 races in order to determine who will be the 6 (or 12 in case of two teams in the country) players in the team and who will be substitutes then.

2nd & 3rd weeks: Group stage (number of pools, number of matches per pool and number of qualifiers per pool to be determined based on the number of participants). These group stages will be carried out (as far as possible) by time zone to best suit all players and so that everyone can benefit from them. At least 3 races to compete during this phase of the tournament.

4th & 5th weeks: Final stage (number of matches per round and number of teams per round to be determined depending on the number of nations). Like last edition, it will be races between at least 3 nations for races with at least 18 drivers. At least 3 races to compete during this phase of the tournament.

  1. How are points counted in races?

Concerning the allocation of points, we retain the principle of the first edition adjusted to the number of drivers per race.

Race for 18 drivers (3 nations):

Race for 24 drivers (4 nations):

Race for 30 drivers (5 nations):

Like last edition, points will be awarded for pole position and for the fastest lap in the race. 5 points if you finish in the top 5, 3 points if you finish in the top 10 and finally 1 point if you are outside the top 10.

  1. Are there any special rules for races?

The answer is yes, in order to see which nation is the strongest in all circumstances, rules will be put in place:

  • The obligation to use a minimum of two types of tire sets per race for a minimum distance of 5 laps per type:
  • For the final stage, we will also have a tire allocation system for qualifying. Thus, each nation will have 6 SS tires, 6 S tires and 6 M tires to use for qualifying (3 rounds, 6 drivers per nation = 18 tires). Please note, a driver will not be allowed to use the same type of tire 3 times at the start. This is based on 3 races per round on the final stage. It can be modified according to the number of players and races.

Example of authorized qualifications:

Example of unauthorized qualifications:

Since the last edition of the World Cup, there were some big improvements on the iGP Manager game and we also have to set some new rules to avoid inequalities.

Refueling and No Refueling Races

  • As in the last edition, we will include some no refueling races at each stage of the tournament (number of no refueling races, number of races per phase will be determined based on the number of participants).

Engine Manufacturing

  • We will allow private Engine Manufacturing as it’ll be released for a year at the World Cup time and it’s an important part of how to design your car. You can share your engine inside the team as you want in the case some players aren’t engine manufacturers. If an entire country doesn’t have any engine manufacturer on it, we will look to lend some engines to you in order to maintain equality between teams. If you are a manufacturer but think your engine will be too low for the World Cup, you still have some months to upgrade it, winning up to 6 engine points per day (1 for the race, 5 from videos), it’ll be definitely enough time to have a competitive engine.

Special Ability & Favorite Track

  • Special Ability drivers are allowed. The only reglementation about abilities is that you have to keep the same ability during an entire phase. For example, during the group phase, you start the first race with a racecraft ability, you will have to keep racecraft during all the races of the group phase and you will be able to change only before the next phase (final phase). Concerning the favorite track, it can be changed by using a different driver but you can’t enter 2 races using a favorite track driver in the same phase. You are allowed to change your driver if he has the same ability or no ability and if it has an unused favorite track. Concerning the level of your ability (common, rare or legendary), it will not be controlled, you can upgrade it whenever you want. The rule will only apply on the ability type.

Staff

  • There will be absolutely no reglementation on staff, you can change them whenever you want.
